- Work WITH the members of the Tarrant City Council and not at odds with them--treating everyone with dignity and respect and in a professional demeanor befitting Tarrant's key Ambassador;
- Understand the Full Scope of the Powers and Limits thereto and understand all of the Responsibilities of the Office of Mayor;
- Represent the will of the Residents of the city and act within the scope of the office's powers;
- Incorporate Tarrant's vibrant Latino community into all city-sponsored functions;
- Introduce new ideas to improve everyone's personal and property security, while providing law enforcement with the resources necessary to improve the city's crime statistics;
- Engage with the Board of Education to continue improving our schools;
- Ensure the City of Tarrant is properly maintaining and updating its key infrastructure components as needed; AND
- Build relationships with current and prospective business owners in Tarrant, as well as reputable investors, to restore our business district and bring more jobs within walking distance of many of our Residents.
About Our Campaign
Jack B. Evans Jr., a.k.a. "Berry" offers the residents of Tarrant a choice for Mayor that has not been part of the problem for the past four years. We have seen what the other candidates do when elected--fuss, fight and sow discord, while we pay the price by having a dysfunctional city government made up of people that would rather litigate with each other than cooperate.
Jack understands that the only way a City Council/Mayor form of municipal government can properly function is to have a Mayor who can work with the City Council. When disagreements arise, he knows that you negotiate, compromise and move forward. Because, at the end of the day, Jack knows that it is not his own self-interests he is serving, but that of the residents who elected him.
Jack was raised in Tarrant and resides in the home that his great grandparents purchased in the 1930's. He knows the major issues facing our city and is ready and able to start the process of working to resolve those issues on day one. From reducing our city's crime rate to improving the education our children receive in our school system, from actively incorporating our vibrant Latino community to revitalizing Tarrant's commercial district, Jack understands the full gamut of issues facing our city.
